ЕКТА is Hi-End Video-Screens Manufacturer for Kyiv Palace of Sports

15.04.2011

Kyiv. April 15, 2011. At the opening ceremony of the refurbished Palace of Sports a video-cube made of EKTA LED-screens was shown to the audience and VIP-guests, among which was Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov. A new screen model iLVM 9C was especially developed for this central Ukrainian sports arena by EKTA’s leading Eastern European LED equipment manufacturer engineers. The features of this model meet the highest international standards. 4 video screens measuring 3.9 x 3.1 m each were produced at EKTA’s high-tech factory in Zhytomyr (Ukraine) and installed at the Palace of Sports in record time.

The Kyiv Palace of Sports reconstruction was part of the preparation for the hockey World Championship 2011 that will take place from 17th till 23rd of April. The International Hockey Federation (IIHF) requires video screens to be installed on the ice-arena that will show important game information (score, time, penalties, player names, etc.) as well as broadcast the game live along with instant replay of key points. Installing these kinds of screens make it easier and even more enjoyable to watch the game. That is why the largest ice arenas have been equipped with LED media-cubes, which not only provide information about the game in play, but also show video-advertisements, which ensure the rapid return on investment for these complex hardware systems.

When choosing a supplier of high-tech video equipment the customer considered EKTA’s reputation as a manufacturer and the great quantity of already installed video screens, as well as available service and technical support.

Control of the video screens was enabled by two ERMAC/SPU-005 controllers, developed specifically by EKTA to solve complex issues in the field of visualization. The ERMAC controller is equipped with an 18-bit video processing system, supports the work of five independent video channels and supports true HD (1080p, RGB 10bit). In the future this feature will allow for increasing the number of screens in the Palace of Sports, without changing the control system configuration.

In addition to 4 screens in the media-cube, EKTA specialists have integrated a judicial system at the Palace of Sports. This includes a judiciary panel, judges’ work-places outside the gates, a countdown timer in the locker room and video-goal system. All those elements are combined with the sports arena’s internal video network and are able to provide information to the central screen with any necessary technical information.

LED screens installed in the Kyiv Palace of Sports are specially designed for sport events as well as for concerts and shows that are regularly held here in Ukraine’s largest indoor sports complex.

EKTA is one of the leaders in the field of video-display equipment for sports facilities in the CIS and Eastern Europe. EKTA video screens are also installed in stadiums of Zaporozhye (Slavutich Arena), Lugansk (Vanguard), Odessa (Chernomorets), Poltava (Vorskla), Chisinau (Zimbru), at the racetracks of Gudermes (Russia), Turkmenabat and Balkanabat (Turkmenistan). EKTA’s rental department is a leading technical partner for most large-scale sporting events held in Ukraine. EKTA’s regular customers are such football clubs as “Dynamo” and “Shakhtar”, Ukrainian National Football Team, Sergey Bubka club, National Gymnastics Federation and other sports organizations.

The list of completed projects for EKTA – Ukraine’s leading LED equipment manufacturer-- is not only limited to sports facilities. For example, EKTA installed video displays in the session hall of Ukraine’s Parliament, as well as voting systems in the voting-halls of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rig city councils and the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regional councils. In addition, EKTA was responsible for the reconstruction of the main clock of the country, setting a 4 LED displays of its own production on the Trades Hall tower on Kyiv’s Independence Square.
